   Ben,I can understand what you are saying, and I have not had the experience you have in dealing with being gay at a young age, so I defer to your statement. But it is still an issue that if discussed with 10 year olds, would have to be done in a way that is fitting to their physical, emotional and mental development. The "non-sexual" aspects of homosexuality is certainly something to consider, but encouraging a 10 year old to make a public declaration that they are gay lacks any discretion. It has nothing to do with lying, as John says, it is a matter of discretion and wisdom.I was not blaming anyone, especially him or his mom, I just said that in his own words, he was wanting revenge through the taking of his own life. The only blame I might have suggested was to the mentality (and those propagating it) that he needed to make declaration of his sexual orientation at such a young age.I agree wholeheartedly that these things need to be wrestled with and help provided to navigate through them healthily…. just let’s use some age appropriate discretion. Not everything needs to be know by everyone for one to be an honest and truthful person.
