   <p>Yeah, they are pretty good Nancy… agreed. I think GCN is a great ministry.</p><p>Mike… I think in terms of good hermeneutics you must start with the specific passages… the danger of the axiom/deductive approach is we can just re-enforce our own assumptions and biases and tend to force scripture to fit into tight and neat systems and boxes… which can really be dangerous and limit God.</p><p>I think we must first look at the passage and do the inductive work (the "hermeneutical spiral") and then work out to the broader issues… </p><p>The other problem with the axiom approach is that we can all kind of choose our pet theologies and build everything else around them. That is, Jesus is all about love so everything is about love, for example.
