Last Christmas, as part of our church’s participation in The Advent Conspiracy, I preached about Dietrich Bonhoeffer as a great example of an “advent conspirator”.  If you are interested, here is the sermon:

I have to tell you, it is both hard and challenging to listen to some of my past sermons.  Hard because it is a reminder of what I get to no longer do (and think God gifted me to do) and challenging because these sermons speak to me as much today as when I gave them.  When you preach, there is really a sense that the words are not your own, but the Holy Spirit’s.  These were and are words that were as much for me as anyone else… and still are.

  1. <p>If God has gifted you for a work, you will do it. Maybe not right now, but it will happen. And you and I both know that evangelism and preaching can happen no matter where you are or what you’re doing.</p>
