MY NAME IS BEN, AND I AM A FOLLOWER OF JESUS.
I am also a broken sinner — redeemed, forgiven, and restored by the cross of Jesus. He is my King, Lord, Leader, and friend.
I am an adopted child of God, created in the image of my daddy.
God has been pursuing me since before I was born; I said YES to him when I was 17 years old.
I love God more than anything. I love His church. And I believe that the local church is really the hope of the world.
I also believe that the “unexamined life is not worth living” — so hence my committment to “faith autopsy”.
Soren Kierkegaard, one of my favorite Christian writers, thinkers and theologians, said that “all faith is autopsy” — drawing from the idea that autopsy (from the Greek) means to really look at, to really see.
Since I am sharing some of what I believe here, I would also say that I believe “autopsy” happens best through reflection on our stories lived out in community — and how our stories intersect and align with God’s story.
My story is still being written. So is yours.
We are at best co-authors with God.
But indeed, we are co-authors.
For what it is worth, I am also a chef, pastor, speaker and consultant.
