A great review and reflection on Justin Lee’s book… I thought it was a great book and highly recommend it, no matter what side of the issue you are on.

This is a great book to give to a conservative Christian who is sincerely trying to love LGBT folks.

First, he debunks the myth still floating around out there that you can change who you are attracted to.  If you hold this view, you are a “South Park Christian” who says “don’t be gay!” to a person who doesn’t have a choice in the matter. (By the way, this is only one of many brilliant metaphors in the book.)

He goes through “the 7 passages” in the Bible that involve same sex relations. Unlike most other books I read, he doesn’t try to push a specific point of view or spin the Scripture to fit a pre-determined outcome. Instead, he says “passage #1 could mean a, b, or c;  passage #2 could mean a, b, c, or d; etc.”  Then, he applies the Agape Principle…
