Here are the full comments from Bill Hybels. Pretty much exactly what I predicted and expected — gracious and a good model.

On the specific issue, I would say I agree with Hybels about 90%. The only major difference between what he believes and I believe is that I believe that a committed, Christ-centered gay relationship is a valid option for gay couples. We agree that both homosexual and heterosexual Christians should be challenged to live their lives with integrity and consistent with NT ethics. (Bill and I just disagree with what the Bible actually says about the issue).

    Starbucks.comHoward,You made the right decision. Run! Willow?s and Hyblels? use of the Bible for sexual ethics or any other kind of ethics is entirely misguided and dangerous. As a Christian who actually enjoys their faith without controlling others, I encourage you find and support a Christian church that does check their issues at the same door where God has checked his. They are out there, maybe not as polished as Bill, but they are out there and they need your support.John
