What Friends Are For

Last week an interesting thing happened to me… I got a call from a friend in Florida pretty early in the morning.

He was just calling to see if I was OK.  He was concerned because he had read a posting on my Facebook page that he thought was pretty negative — more negative in tone than a follower of Jesus should be.

So he called… to check in, make sure I was doing OK, and to hold me accountable.

I really appreciated that.  These are the things that best happen within the fellowship of believers — and it is a powerful thing to be a part of.

So thanks Matthew… for being a good friend and reminding me of what Christian community is really about when it works!
