Psalm 25

I believe that the public proclamation of scripture can be the most powerful and transformative experience of a corporate worship service.  I think it is sad that the art of public proclamation of the scriptures has been so lost in so many evangelical and Protestant churches.  

At the last church I served at, we worked hard to bring creativity and focus to this aspect of the service. Too often we see the reading of the scripture as a footnote to the sermon; bt really it is the other way around.  The proclamation of the scriptures is primary and the sermon is simply commentary and application.
