I am.

Let’s make that 100% clear — and there really is no way to minimize that fact.

I know some well-meaning folks try to figure out who else can be blamed, but the truth is I alone am culpable for my sin and situation and resulting consequences.

Period. Without exception.

Given this, I have been meditating on a couple of verses of scripture lately… they speak to me.

Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 8:1 – “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…”

Romans 12:1 – “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”

The consequences of my sin have been great.  I have lost my job, ministry, purpose, livelihood, faith community (which was like family to me), and my best friends.

Who is to blame? I am.

But I remember always… HIS LOVE.
